Hotel Birger Jarl is owned by Immanuelskyrkan and the surplus from our operations helps to finance the church's many efforts for people in vulnerable life situations. So by staying with us, you contribute to a number of activities that support children and young people, seniors, people without a home and those who have a difficult time on life's journey.

Giving People is an aid organisation that works to combat economic vulnerability and child poverty in Sweden.

Our hotel has been awarded the international Green Key eco-label. We work actively with environmental and sustainability issues, including by following Green Key's comprehensive criteria. In this way, you as a guest help to take responsibility for the environment without compromising your experience or comfort with us.

We are actively working to reduce food waste. Through our partnership with the organisation Karma, we can discount leftover food and save good food from being thrown away.

We support Tjejzonen, which is Sweden's largest support organisation for girls. They fight for the right of girls to be listened to and to reduce mental illness and vulnerability.

Hotel Birger Jarl supports Talita, an organization that helps women out of trafficking, prostitution and pornography.

Hotel Birger Jarl joins the fight against food waste. Approximately one third of all food produced in the world is thrown away and of course we want to reduce our environmental impact.

We work with Nores, a member-owned purchasing organisation with extensive experience in the hospitality industry.
