The castle was built in the Baroque style by architect Nicodemus Tessin the Younger and designed as a Roman palace. The castle has more than 600 rooms spread over eleven floors with the parade rooms facing the city and the smaller residential rooms facing the inner courtyard.
The palace has many attractions - the Treasury with the national regalia, Museum Tre Kronor about the palace's medieval history and, not least, the Representative Apartments with the magnificent parade rooms.
Don't miss the grand Changing of the Guard!
The ceremony starts at 12:15 on weekdays (including Saturdays) and at 13:15 on Sundays and public holidays. It lasts approximately 40 minutes.
