About us
At Hotel Birger Jarl, we promise our guests a welcoming atmosphere and genuine consideration. Our modern hotel in Stockholm City Centre is more than just an upscale business hotel. We routinely go above and beyond – for our guests and for those in need. All profits from our hotel go to our owners, Immanuel Church, who in turn help underprivileged groups through various partnerships and charity projects around the world.
Hotel Birger Jarl was built in 1974 in the golden triangle enclosed by Stureplan, Jarlaplan and Odenplan in central Stockholm. At the time, it was the perfect embodiment of the seventies. But as we all know, trends do not live forever, and so in 1999, the prestigious building went through a complete renovation and acquired a brand new personality. The entrance, lobby, dining room, gallery, the gym offering a view over the local rooftops, the superior rooms and bathrooms all were renovated from floor to ceiling. The hotel's unique design rooms and suites, mainly on the 7th floor, were created by leading Swedish architects.
Hotel Birger Jarl became a modern designer four-star hotel. Young interior architects and designers with established reputations worked together to create several of the rooms, which offer surprising and individual design features. The other rooms also showcase Swedish decoration and style. The lobby doubles as an exhibition hall for artists focusing on Swedish colour, form and design.
