Room 332 and 334 – The Birger Suite

Hardinger Arkitekter AB consists of nine architects, interior designers and designers.
Functional minimalism with a feeling of luxury is the standard for Hardinger Arkitekter, which specialises in hotel, restaurant and office commissions. Among its customers are the hamburger chain McDonalds, Fjäderholmarnas pub, Pandora Fastigheter properties and a number of international hotels chains, such as Scandic and Sheraton.

According to Hardinger Arkitekter, thorough experience and knowledge of hotel furnishing  creates understanding of the essence of the guest’s needs and expectations for his or her stay in the hotel. This, in turn, influences the design and the choice of materials, while taking into account use, wear and tear, and environmental requirements. 

Franz Hardinger is 48, a qualified interior designer and member of the Swedish National Federation of Interior Designers. After positions with a number of architectural, building and design companies, he started Hardinger Arkitekter AB in 1997. With 25 years in the business, Franz Hardinger has carried out many different projects, including the Sweden House in Brussels, the Nya Scandic Hotel in Helsinki, Hasseludden Konferens & Yasuragi, as well as hotel rooms for the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm. Franz Hardinger can also take credit for the design of the new lobby for the Hotel Birger Jarl, in birch and the red paint traditionally used on Swedish timber houses.

Bronwynn Welsh is a young South African, trained in interior designer at Cape Technicon School of Design in South Africa and living in Sweden since 1993.  After jobs in London and Stockholm, Welsh has been working for Hardinger Arkitekter AB since 1998. Some of her previous commissions are the Löwenströmska Health Centre in Upplands Väsby, the Grappe wine cellar in Stockholm, Hasseludden Konferens & Yasuragi and several projects for the Scandic hotel chain.
