427 - Rectangular relaxation
The wall decoration in this room is designed for guests who prefer their walls white, but still like to rest their eyes on a little colour here and there. The simple pattern of rectangles in different colours is easy to create for yourself and, if you get tired of it, you can always return to the original white or come up with another colour combination.
Even as a child,CHARLOTTE PETTERSON was fascinated by interior design. After completing the textile and clothing programme at upper secondary school, she went on to the fashion programme at Beckman’s School of Design in Stockholm. She has also worked as an interior designer at IKEA and has freelanced for various well-established fashion and interior design magazines, as well as working with stage design and advertising films. She is presently head of interior design at the Swedish interior design magazine, Sköna Hem.
Room 427 was created by Charlotte Pettersson in conjunction with the project “Personligt -Måleritrend 2002” (Personal -Trends in Painting in 2002). This was a project in which Hotel Birger Jarl and the Trade and Employers' Association of Swedish Painting Contractors joined forces to demonstrate how it is possible to change a room by using colour and modern decorative painting techniques, as well as furnishing, thus providing inspiration and ideas to others.
