The black and pale grey corridor was designed by Åke Axelsson, using horizontal stripes to make the corridor shrink and feel shorter than it is in reality.
ÅKE AXELSSON has extensive experience of design work. His background is in cabinet-making. He studied at the Swedish State School of Arts, Crafts and Design in the 1950s, since when he has become one of the greats of Swedish design. His décor can be seen in many locations in Stockholm and worldwide. His CV includes the King’s jubilee room at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, the assembly hall of the Swedish Parliament building, and the Bistro & Grill Ruby in Stockholm’s Gamla stan.
